Printing the User Guide
 

Simple Printing

Due to the size of the user guide and the dynamic nature of its contents you may want to print only sections that pertain to what you are currently working on.

To do this:

  1. Click on the link to the section that you want to print from any one of the three table of contents pages.
  2. Once that section of the User Guide is displayed simply click the print icon. That section of the User Guide will then be printed. More experienced users can select Print from the File menu and be able to customize their print job.

Example: If you wanted to print the instructions for hiring a new SPA permanent employee you would need to go to the PERMANENT SPA EMPLOYEE ACTIONS - TABLE OF CONTENTS. From there you would click New Hire. The New Hire instructions would then be displayed. Click the print icon and the instructions would be printed to your default printer.

Landscape Printing

Instructions that require multiple steps to complete such as Acting Appointments (beginning and ending), Change Number of Hours Worked (permanent and temporary), In-Range Salary Adjustments, Reclassifications, and Salary Adjustments have a table that is best viewed when printed in landscape orientation.

To do this:

  1. Display one of the above mentioned actions then select Print from the File menu.
  2. A print dialog box will then be displayed. Click the Preferences button.
  3. Click the Basics tab.
  4. Click the Landscape option.
  5. Click .
  6. Click Print.

Printing large sections of the User Guide

The user guide cannot be printed in it entirety but large sections can be printed at once through Microsoft Internet Explorer.

To do this:

  1. Display one of the three table of contents pages then select Print from the File menu.
  2. A print dialog box will then be displayed. Click the Options tab.
  3. Click the Print all linked documents box.
  4. Click Print.
